For example exactly same build in terms of skills and attributes can be executed differently depending on other introduced aspects like "reactions" (imagine attack of opportunity or reactive shot being expanded to an entire mechanic of equal importance to attributes of skills) or artifact (play-style effecting defining items). This interactions between the variables is what gives Epic Encounters 2 the depth and numerous build options. A small showcase of the mod on youtube can be found here, which highlights some of the features. So it's more like comparing addition to multiplication. Epic Encounter increases the count of dimensions in which variants themselves can occure. However I don't think it can be compared because the design philosophy is radically different.Ĭlass mods adds more variants in existence dimension where variance can occure. Some people compare it to class mods, like you're mentioned Odinblade. I don't think there is anything else which can be compared really. It's quite a buy into and might be hard to chew on if you're new to the game, but if you're like me, who loves to get lost in options available, theory-craft builds, come up with combo wombos, thematical or power gamy and crank up the challenges to see if my "theories" worked out. It overhauls and expands entire combat / character progression system as well as introducing new mechanics on top of tweaked ones.
I think it's most ambitious mod out there.
